Giles and I are going to the kitchen to make some cranberry (craisin) scones now. Mmmmm. Scones. (Be sure to listen to the audio file with the "correct" pronounciation of the word.) In other food news, I am happy to have found a local cafe, Padgett Station, that serves crumpets. Mmmmm. Crumpets.

My advisor, who taught for 12 years at Duke, once said that Durham had more speciality food stores than anywhere else he'd ever been, including Manhattan. Is that right?

I'd somehow doubt that. But there are definitely more specialty stores here than one would imagine, what with Durham being the backwards south and all. Maybe it's that they stand out so much more here.
