I used to laugh at popular representations of men who were so inept in the kitchen they couldn't even make toast without burning it. Surely there weren't real people/men out there who couldn't even get the toaster to make edible toast? Well, this morning, I am sad to report, I must concede I am one of them. Yet another self-delusion finally dispelled....
