Apparently I'm on an early sleep schedule now. I've been going to sleep around eight or nine in the evening and getting up between three and five in the morning. As long as I get enough sleep, I guess . . .

My sister's man just called me "proffy" in an e-mail. Hee.

It's interesting but also a little disturbing how influenced I am by what other people write in their on-line journals. Not in the way that I follow the instructions and mandates of y'all, but that my mind takes and twists things people write so that there are actual effects in my life. The other day I read something in someone's journal musing about the effects he has on ex-lovers. He thought it strange that he might have a lasting effect, might have left a piece of himself with these people, no matter how short the relationship or how poorly it ended. I'm just the opposite, I think. I rather hope that Joe will always remember me fondly and that we'll always be in touch. So sent off an e-mail to him (not immediately after reading this post) to say hello... Be careful what you write.

Duck ---

You said "y'all"! That's a first! (Or, at least it's the first time I noticed it.) You are a true Southern! I'm celebrating with a heapin' helpin' of grits t'morrow morn.

Glad you're back from your fall off the edge of the earth. Since ducks fly, I wasn't worried. I jest missed y'all.

*Mwah!* I learned that "y'all" is the plural form of "you" on the tv sitcom Reba. In an effort to be grammatically correct, I have now incorporated "y'all" into my vocabularly as needed. :)
