cold and laughter

I lay in bed for an hour after waking up this morning, safe beneath the warmth of freshly washed bedding. Giles and I tussled periodically for space at the bottom of the bed where he likes to plop down right where my legs would go if I stretched my legs out. About fifteen minutes after waking, my alarm went off. I had set it to the radio rather than the soul-shattering beeping. I listened to some "light rock" music interspersed with commercials, weather reports, and traffic reports. The djs on this station aren't obnoxious, thankfully. The weather report, however, was quite dire. We were at NEGATIVE SEVEN while I was in bed, with a windchill of around negative twenty! There's a windchill advisory through noon today. I don't even know what that means!! And the wind hasn't really picked up to the gusts we're supposed to get tonight and tomorrow. The high today is supposed to be seven above zero. Eep.
