bags, marvels, and fathers

I couldn't get out of bed this morning -- so tired! I don't think it was because I did anything strenuous yesterday. I did jog for about five minutes with the puppy yesterday morning -- perhaps I am feeling the soreness of that gargantuan effort. (Have I mentioned how out of shape I am?)

I'm having a lemon marvel with my mocha this morning. The guy in front of me was getting one and I was, like, oooo, what's that and had to try one. I also need to get some cash from the bank because I have this silly guilt thing about using credit cards for small purchases so I'll "upgrade" a regular coffee to a mocha with a pastry just so I'm charging $3.25 instead of $1.25. Stupid.

The priest/father person sitting at the table next to me said I have a great dog when I came back out of the coffee place. I guess that means Giles wasn't whining, barky, or growly while I was inside? Also, he's just cute. It's incredible how people make an assumption that Giles is a good dog, a well-behaved dog, a friendly dog, because he's innocent looking. But really he's a spazzy terror. A TERROR, I say.

Also, earlier this afternoon I went to my office with a friend to "write our dissertations." I think he read a chapter of a book while I goofed off on my new office computer. (slanderous, it does have a built in webcam!) I also realized I will have to bring in some music and/or a white noise maker of some sort because that office is sooooo eerily quiet and windowless. I need to get going on the large 10 feet by 10 feet painting of Giles I want to put up on the empty wall of my office. I also need some sort of plant that can survive on fluorescent lighting (or perhaps a fake plant). And other decorations. Maybe I will post some pictures here and ask for interior design suggestions?
