license plates
May. 13th, 2006 09:26 amI want to get a dog license plate when I move to Minnesota. But they don't seem to have any animal-related ones except "critical habitat" ones. I wonder if it's worth contributing to the critical habitat fund this way. I also don't really want to contribute to hunting systems, though it seems inevitable in supporting national parks/wildlife that hunting is part of it all.
North Carolina has these cool "Animal Lovers" plates. The annual contributions go to the Department of Health and Human Services to subsidize animal neutering and spaying. They also have a duck plate, but as I found out when I was a teen, all these duck things actually support duck hunting. I was very sad when I realized duck stamps are actually licenses to shoot ducks. :(
