Ugh. 'S rainy today. Had a grey morning, couldn't get myself into gear until I had to rush off to meet advisor at noon on campus.
I wish people here would drive more sensibly. Maybe people everywhere, in general. But on the way home this evening, it's dark and rainy. And people are driving fast and reckless. At one point, the car in front of me decides to stop in the middle of the road (instead of pulling off the road). Then later down the road, after I've gone around this first car, another car is careening down the road at a fast clip, and then slams on its brakes and sort of swings from side to side before running off the road to avoid rear-ending the car in front of it. This car goes flying up the embankment on the side of the road a good twenty feet or so.
Now I'm back home safe. I'm not going back out there tonight.
I dropped $100 at the mega-book-music-dvd store on my way home. I picked up more of the HBO Def Poetry series on dvd (why am I writing a chapter on performance poetry if I'm not really into it). I also bought two books and two music cds. I think I'm in a funk.
