Yup. Definitely a mistake to post all the grade points in detail on-line. My students are all griping about why they had points "taken away" here or there and want me to account for every single point they didn't get. They're still operating under this assumption that 100% of the points is what they DESERVE. Each point taken away must be because they made a MISTAKE. Such calculating, conniving fools. I hope some of them stumble on my journal and see how much I revile them.

I just can't imagine ever writing to my teacher and asking why I got an 190/200 on my journal grade instead of 200/200. Fer chrissakes, 190/200 is a solid A! They just don't understand that the 100% grade means exceptional. Summarizing news articles in two sentences is not going to get you an exceptional grade for a RESPONSE journal that asks for your engaged reaction to the news.

I'm in such a foul mood. My papers refuse to be written. My students only want to know how I could be so evil and shortsighted not to see that they are perfect beings.
