christians

It appears I have a number of devout Christians in my class this semester. A few of them have mentioned in office hours meetings that they read the Bible every night and write down notes about what they've read.

they must be slow readers if they're not done yet

Yeah, that's one thing that amazes me about serious Bible-philes -- that they are constantly reading the thing!

Make them turn in a close reading.

HMMM

The Bible? Never heard of it. Who wrote it?

hmmm

I think it's written by "Anonymous" or something. Scary thing is the Bible is probably the biggest "bestseller" these days, let alone across the last few centuries.

I mean, I can at least sort of understand bible study because it's like getting together with people and reading the book together and talking about it, but sitting by yourself reading it and taking notes??? Especially for students who then say they don't like to read (for class)?
