manic thursday

I'm apparently in one of my manic moods, or perhaps I'm just high coming off a good graduate class meeting and discussion this evening. In any case, I'm having all these thoughts that I can write three journal articles (those call for paper announcements are so seductive!), keep up with all my teaching work, and forge ahead with all the other random projects I'm involved with without breaking a sweat. The rum and coke might be contributing to the euphoria as well...

I need to ground myself a bit, though, and realize that at 11:20 pm, I should be making sure I have lesson plans in place for tomorrow morning's class. I should also be working on some overdue articles and getting things set up to grade a few sets of papers in the next few days.

Oh, how do people do this?
