smelly hands and the wait
May. 18th, 2007 10:36 amFor a half hour this morning, I kept getting a whiff of the smelly soap I used to wash my hands at the coffee shop earlier. It's that kind of soap that smells very chemically. I don't know if some people think it's supposed to be a pleasant, perfumey smell or not. But it certainly does not sit well with me. I finally had to get up and go wash my hands again here at the office. The other smell was so strong, too, that it was disturbing my enjoyment of a morning coffee.
I'm sitting here in my office to give my students a chance to pick up their final papers. I told them I'd be here from ten until four. Ugh. My plan is to read a couple of short books while I'm here -- Ed Lin's Waylaid and Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies.
