pylduck: (giles and me!)
You know you're in trouble when you think it's already impossibly cold while out walking the dog, but shortly after thawing out in the car, you hear on the radio that it will "get cold" later in the day. Not get colder. I think long underwear is necessary. Giles, by the way, seems not to notice the cold at all, even though the leaves on the ground are frosted over solid.

This morning, I stayed in bed three-and-a-half hours longer than I had planned. I did foolishly think I could get up at 4 am to grade papers. However, my plan really was foiled by Mr. Frog's coming to bed at 3 am. He's been on his night schedule and not coming to bed until 7 or 8. It was nigh impossible to even consider leaving the warm snuggliness of Mr. Frog and Giles who has taken to sleeping on top of my legs. At 7, I even considered calling in to cancel my classes. But then I realized how silly that was since we only have two weeks left, and we really need every single minute of the remaining class periods to finish everything I planned. So here I am in my office.

When I first came in, all bundled up in my toque and scarf and gloves, another faculty member laughed at me and said it's not even winter yet. Eep?

Hey y'all. I'm assuing that at least some LJ users have dealt with repetitive stress injuries to the wrists and hands. Any advice on how to reduce injury? I know a lot of it has to do with posture, ergonomics more generally, and not contorting arms in weird ways. Do people have exercises they do? Or ways to keep themselves from resting wrists in bad positions?
