I'm already less cranky now -- possibly as a result of getting some food in me. This tells me perhaps that I need to make sure I eat regularly to keep my blood sugar level steady if I don't want mood swings. Also, someone suggested to me once that lack of exercise could contribute to blood sugar fluctuations (and accompanying mood swings). Perhaps I should get my lazy butt to the gym finally.
The weather forecasters here sure are lousy. Or, they're as fickle as the weather is. On last night's news, they said we would get flurries overnight but then have sunny skies from morning on. Instead, it was clear last night when I took puppy out for his last walk. And this morning, it had clouded over. The morning news weather forecasters said we might get some snow this morning with some sun appearing in the afternoon.
One of the things that made me depressed yesterday was discovering that a student's discussion questions for the day were from the wrong section of reading and then hearing his confession that he had consulted Spark Notes. Today, this just makes me laugh. I actually don't doubt that this particular student did the reading but couldn't make heads or tails of it so resorted to an outside source for summary. How does one teach students how to read Woolf, though? I wish I were a better teacher.
Whoops, we were working on happier thoughts. Like, the photographer who took pictures of me yesterday was cute. I went in for my faculty profile headshot. We'll see how the shots turn out.
