Does "gyp" come from "gypsy"? Is my dog being racist? When I was in Rome with my parents, this little gypsy girl totally had her hand in my mom's purse. She came up to us with a piece of cardboard held horizontally containing cheap jewelry. She held it right next to my mom, over the purse. And as she stared at us with pleading eyes, her hands were digging in the purse. My dad shooed her away like she was a little chicken.

But seriously, how the heck can it cost so much to have our measly belongings moved? And the scariest part of the number crunching? The $5,000.24 estimate is after a 63% "discount" through the university contract! So they seriously would charge someone paying retail price almost $11,000? And someone would actually pay?

I'm supposed to go sleep at nine so I can get up at four to write for a couple hours before getting ready for work. But that plan hasn't really worked yet.

In other news, I'm published! I got the journal in the mail today. It's only a small part of a "collaborative" project, but my name is all official and in print.

I've been celebrating with wine. I swear I am not drunk from one glass.
