foodstuffs are weird

Apparently, powdered sugar contains cornstarch. This I did not know as I put some in my tea this morning (having run out of the regular granulated sugar making brownies yesterday). I thought it a bit weird that the tea looked a bit cloudy after I added the powdered sugar. I tasted it -- and it tasted strange. That was when I checked the label on the bag and realized that powdered sugar is not just sugar somehow pounded into a powder. Sigh.
