I'm surprised that M. Jacqui Alexander thanks me in her book Pedagogies of Crossing. I didn't really do anything except find and send her a few articles. This was a little research I did for her actually in September 2001. I remember there was an issue with mailing materials because of the plane groundings shortly after 9/11. This is officially my first thanks in a book acknowledgement! Woo!

I'm also sad to find out, as I sit here in the Duke student union building, that I just missed a reading by Mark Doty.
