Instead of checking e-mail and my LJ friends page every five minutes (no updates!), I should probably be doing work, like putting together syllabuses. Or writing job talks. Or writing dissertation chapters. Or stuff.

Contemplating renting The Hole, the soft core version that's on my local video store's shelves. But then again, as Rob just said to me, porn without the porn... is that worth it? But it's a spoof of the horror movie The Ring. There's a video, you see, and as soon as you finish watching it, your phone rings. And you answer the phone, and a voice tells you that you will be gay in seven days.

Well, The Hole was very bad. It was actually just the setup scenes of a porn movie, bad acting included, and then truncated sex scenes.

We decided long ago that TLA Releasing's gay movies are bad in general. I'm sure there are some good ones, but there are also many that Rob and I just didn't bother watching after the first few minutes. Why do we (I) keep renting them?

Though I did want to rent Côte d'Azur. Unfortunately, my video store didn't have it. (I see now that it's not available until February...) It's a movie by the writers/directors of The Adventures of Felix.
