According to Duke Power (my power company), there are 109,000 people without power in Durham alone. Yesterday afternoon, Rob and I packed up the food in our fridge/freezer and some clothes to head over to his mom's place about twenty minutes away. She still has power. We had to run a slalom course to get out of our neighborhood deep in the forest of the Duke area. Rob left me with his family while he went off to work where he had to guard a cold, dark store all night long.

I'm in my office on campus now. Must try to grade and write papers.
