pylduck | socks must be separated

Most people experience the mystery of the disappearing sock when they wash and dry them. (For an explanation of where the sock goes, see Beaver and Steve.) I have another experience with socks that also contributes to the understanding that pairs of socks seek always to be separated. Whenever I fall asleep with my socks on, I wake up with only one sock on. It is the most curious thing. I don't know how the sock gets off my foot. And I don't know why both socks don't flee my feet. It's only just one (and possibly always just the left sock though I haven't kept track). Does this happen to anyone else?
