heh, job application

Well, I told myself I would not take on any jobs this summer as I make the mad dash to finish off my dissertation. But an e-mail just came over the English grad student listserv with a job position that would be perfect -- 20 hours a week, from now until mid-July, $10 an hour. I wouldn't have to worry about having enough money to get me through the summer and into the beginning of the fall when I first get paid in Minnesota. I just sent in a cover letter and resume. We'll see what happens, I guess!

Now off to grab some coffee and head to the conference.

dreaming of nyc

I'm so conferenced out I can't even get excited about any of the panels or my own presentation here. On the drive up with my friend, I started fantasizing about hopping on a train to NYC for the next few days, skipping out on this whole scene..... I guess I could just bum around DC as well, but I don't know it as well as NYC and was just here in December!
