rosa, rip
Also, I haven't seen much mention in the blogosphere, though truthfully I haven't really looked, of Rosa Parks's death. What I find so interesting in the news obituaries is how they mention she wasn't physically too tired to get up from the bus that day, but rather was tired of the segregationist laws and so on. I remember learning about her as an old woman who was just too tired from a day's work and inadvertently became a civil rights hero. I did not know she was an active civil rights organizer. I guess the narrative of her as an old woman just shores up the idea that injustice eventually gets stamped out because we see how the poor and downtrodden are abused. But really there is no such thing as justice getting its dues eventually.... there is constant, hard work by lots of people.
