Wish me luck. Picking up my parents at the airport in an hour. They're here for a week. Of silence. And sadness. And guilt trips. But I'm trying to be positive about it. Maybe it gets bad because I keep expecting it to be bad. We're going to have fun. We're going to relax. We're going to see the Great Smoky Mountains!

All in all, it's been quite okay so far. No big traumas yet, though as I noted to my sister on the phone, our parents generally employ the tactic of enjoying the first half of a visit, and then brutally disrupting the second half with psychological torture. My mom has been periodically implying that I'm a fucked up boy, but other than that, things have been going well...
