cibo matto and other things

I'm at Cahoots, the coffee place around the block from my apartment. They're playing Cibo Matto. Gosh, that group totally disappeared.

I just checked my cell phone bill and it's of course outrageously huge with all these partial charges. What pissed me off was an extra service activation charge that no one told me about. And I talked to four people to get my phone set up. Grrr.

This morning I met up with some friends at the St. Paul farmer's market and then had lunch with my college roommate who recently moved to Minneapolis. Since lunch, I've been lazily unpacking some more boxes. I've cleared away lots of boxes so that things are beginning to look settled. I haven't even touched the boxes of my books, though, or the bookcases.

Tonight is a little party with another new colleague. I wonder when I am going to crash socially and become a hermit. There's a very quickly reached limit to my ability to socialize.

How do you already know so many people there?!

Ha. It feels like I know more people here than I did living in Durham for six years. Half the people I know are college friends. A couple other friends I know from UNC (you met one -- Patrick, fellow WoW traveler). One friend is the identical twin of one of my best friends in NC. And the rest are people in my department I had met during my job talk and some other academicky folk I was referred to by conference friends. :P
